How Okonjo-Iweala celebrated women at WTO

The Director General of World Trade Organisation (WTO), Prof Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has called on women to work hard, persevere and shine.
Okonjo-Iweala, who also said that women were resilient, made the appeal, while wishing them a happy International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.
The International Women’s Day was celebrated on Friday March 8, 2024.
In her X handle, @NOIweala, at the weekend, the WTO boss disclosed that at the WTO the day was spent on listening to some of the organisation’s preeminent female leaders, who shared their lifetime experiences on becoming female leaders and role models.
Okonjo-Iweala specifically thanked Ambassador @almolokommeof Botswana [Gladys Mokhawa], Ambassador Maria Pagan of the USA, WTO Deputy Director General Angela Ellard, and WTO Deputy Director General @johahill for a fascinating panel.

“It was a special honour to welcome to the @WTO today, an inspiring woman who mentored and supported me as a Young Professional in the World Bank, Ms Katherine Marshall @patlakath – Executive Director of the @WorldFaiths.
