The self-acclaimed acting National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Lamidi Apapa, got what he never bargained for at the ongoing Election Tribunal in Abuja on May 17, 2023, as he was booed by the crowed, who came to witness proceedings st the court.
Apapa’s trouble started after arrival at the tribunal with his group, who allegedly working for the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, only to meet the authentic LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, and the LP presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, already seated.
Apapa and his group were insisting that the ruling of a High Court of the FCT, suspending the Abure remained in force, consequently, Abure and his supporters had no business being in Court on Wednesday morning.

Apapa, who came to the tribunal for the first time, was said to have challenged Abure’s presence at the tribunal, which angered the crowd, who trailed, and booed him outside the premises.
At last week’s pre-hearing proceedings, the Labour Party was represented by the National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, although the suspended National Chairman, Julius Abure, had always been in court but never announced appearance until today (Wednesday).
At today’s pre-hearing session, the panel was expected to receive report on harmonization of parties processes and modalities for the hearing of the petition.
Reacting to the drama at the tribunal, the LP and many Nigerians, who witnessed the drama, took to the twitter to express their feelings.
