Nigeria beat Angola 1-0, grab Africa Cup of Nations semi-final ticket

Super Eagles of Nigeria have qualified for semi-final at the ongoing AFCON 2023 in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Super Eagles crashed out the Antelops of Angola on Friday February 2, 2024, with Ademola Lookman’s first-half goal.

Lookman scored after a good work from Moses Simon in the 41st minute.

Victor Osimhen thought he had made it 2-0 but VAR disallowed his headed goal in the 75th minute.

Super Eagles’ defence was resolute in the face of Angola’s verve and up front, they had the incision to repeatedly break through their opponents.

Nigeria will play in the semi-final on Wednesday against Cape Verde or South Africa.
