Nigeria’s former  Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Y Danjume (rtd), who is the  Abonta of the Kwararafa  Kingdom, has appealed to the newly crowned Aku-Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty Manu, Ishaku  Ada  Ali, Matakitwen I of the Kwararafa  Kingdom, to defend the land  against foreign  invaders.

Danjuma also advised indigenes of Kwararafa kingdom “to acquire weapons,  where the intruders aquire  theirs” to defend themselves.

He made the appeal when the new Aku-Uka of Wukari, His Royal Majesty Manu, Ishaku Ada Ali, Matakitwen I of the Kwararafa  Kingdom,  received  his staff of office officially.

He said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) federal government was aware that Nigeria was under siege but reluctant to  tackle the insecurity in the nation.

His words: “Our country is under  siege by armed  bandits. It could  be recalled  that I raised  the alarm few years ago when I said that the Armed Forces  were not neutral; they collude with bandits to kill innocent  Nigerians. The  military is not ready to protect  or defend us, the defence  ministry set-up a panel of investigation and the invited  me to come  and tesify. I did not go; their reports say I was only speculating   and there was no evidence.

“The whole  country is overrun and these foreign invaders were allowed to come into the country by our government. They are armed  to the teeth with weapons  of mass destruction; the lands belong to us; they are trying to colonise us and takeover our lands.

“Your Majesty, you must unite our people to defend  themselves. I will not give you arms but find  out how the   invaders get arms and use same means to acquire arms and defend  yourselves and  your lands because  Nigeria is being  brought to ruin  by criminals. How did we get here?”

The monarch at at the presentation of staff of authority.
