NSCDC: We call on members of the public to disregard this baseless report and remain assured of our commitment to upholding peace, safety, and the rule of law throughout Bauchi State

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has debunked the allegation that the operatives opened fire during an attempted arrest in Tudun Wada village, Bauchi Local Government Area of the Bauchi State.
The command made the denial in a statement signed by its Spokesman, ASC Saminu Yusuf, in Bauchi on Thursday.
It stated that the allegation report claimed that two residents, Hamza Sarkin Aska and Jibrin Adamu, sustained gunshot wounds on the legs, and a 12-year-old Almajiri boy, Umar Rabiu, suffered leg bruises before being evacuated for treatment.
It further stated that two victims were admitted at the General Hospital Yuguda, while the child was treated and discharged.

“We state unequivocally that this account is entirely false, misleading, and does not reflect any operation carried out by the NSCDC in the area.
“NSCDC is a responsible paramilitary organization, guided by professionalism, discipline, and a constitutional mandate to safeguard lives, properties, and critical national infrastructure.
“Our personnel are trained to exercise maximum restraint and adhere to the rules of engagement in all operations.
“We call on members of the public to disregard this baseless report and remain assured of our commitment to upholding peace, safety, and the rule of law throughout Bauchi State,” it said.
The statement further stressed that false information not only misrepresents the efforts of security agencies but also poses a risk to public trust and communal harmony.
It further assured that the NSCDC Bauchi State Command remained resolute in its mission to uphold peace, law, and order across the state.
