Obi: The Tinubu administration’s nightmare

When the lion king of the jungle roars, all other animals jitter.

In Nigeria politics, Peter Obi’s status is on the rise; as his detractors to scamper in disbeleive.

Obi’s approach on national issues has exposed the ignorance of the current policymakers.

For their continued relevance in the chaotic system, Obi, the emerging lion, must not be heard again.

This, I feel is why every Tom, Dick and Harry in the Tinubu administration is paying heavily to pull him down.

The more they try, the more popular Obi becomes. God’s approved mission cannot be stopped by man.

Obi’s mission

Obi’s mission in Nigeria is divine; and so must be acomplished.

His emergence in Nigerian politics was phenomenal and list expected by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

To many, he is the Biblical David, who killed the almighty Goliath.

In 2023 general election, Obi took Nigerian politics by storm on the platform of the little known Labour Party (LP), winning election in Lagos, Abuja, South East, South South and many other states before he was wickedly stopped by the judiciary.

His judiciary-induced loss did not weigh him down. He overcame it and became a formidable force feared by the ruling party.

When Obi sneezes the ruling party catches cold.

The rising profile of a man, whom they once referred as a social media personality, still baffles members of the ruling party.

Many, who are working hard to pull him down never cared to know his pedigree.

Obi is not new in politics. He paid his dues as a two-term governor of Anambra State and the Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), when Alhaji Atiku Abubakar contested against the immediate past president, Muhammadu Buhari.

Obi’s experience during the period was what Tinubu and his APC team underated and paid the price.

Obi also caught my attention with his 2023 presidential ticket decleration speech:

“The state of our country is deplorable and the level of insecurity is indeed unfortunate and Nigeria has fallen to the lowest ebb in the committee of nations in the world and I can restore  security in Nigeria.

“As President, I want security of lives and property in Borno State; in Minna, Niger State; as I want it to be in Onitsha and in Kano or Ekiti State.

“My interest in the presidency of Nigeria is to restore security and revamp our educational sector and also revive the health sector and I have seriously studied our country and I have come to discover that all that we need is to ensure security so that foreign aid and local investments would thrive in all parts of the country.”

Like the French astrologer and physician, Michel de Notredame (Nostradamus), “who saw tomorrow,” Obi acknowleges the existence of a “big problem,” which he knows the solution.

His pedigree speaks for him.

Obi was the only governor in Nigeria who left office without any debt for his successor.

His war against insecurity drove criminals away from Anambra State.

But, it is just cracy that the APC government is doing everything to stop him.

Several falsehood had been sponsored to taenish his image without success.

Recently, the Benue State Governor Hycinth Alia stopped him from taking his charity work to the displaced people in the state. What an irony!

The manner in which Obi is building bridges across the federation is a big problem for the ruling APC.

His emergence has dwarfed all the achievements of the political heavyweights from the South East.

His popularity in all the regions is what Nigeria needs to move forward.

Those fighting Obi are enermies of the new generation Nigeria – a country where all of us must be proud of.

Before 2027, let there be a new electoral reform law that will takecare of all the shananigans witnessed in the 2023 general election.

I will also advice the current government to put into practice all the constructive criticisms from Nigerians instead of castigating the critics.
