Okonjo-Iweala mourns Namibia’s late president

The Director General of World Trade Organisation (WTO), Prof Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has expressed sadness over the passing away of the President of Namibia, Dr Hage Geingob.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala , in her X, @NOIweala, described the late Namibian president as an educationist with strong intellect.

Her words: “It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of HE Dr Hage Geingob, President of Namibia.

“This is a great loss for Namibia and for Africa. An educationist with strong intellect, President Geingob, an experienced politician, was also Minister of Trade and Industry from 2008-2012.

“I last met HE just recently at COP28 in Dubai in November 2023. My deepest condolences to the

@hagegeingob family and to the people of Namibia. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
