Ooni has shown great interest and support for the development and progress of Abia and the South East

Abia State governor, Mr. Alex Otti, has described the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), as a revered leader and a symbol of unity and peace for the Yoruba people and Nigeria as a whole.

Otti made the commendation, while welcoming the Ooni at his country home in Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.

In his X, @alexottiofr, Otti explained that the Ooni was in Abia State to attend the civic reception and thanksgiving organised in honour of the Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, in Bende.

He further disclosed that the royal father participated in the unveiling of the Peace in South East Project (PISE-P), an initiative of Kalu to promote peace, security, and development in the region.

“During his visit, he expressed confidence in the ability of the state government to deliver good governance and dividends of democracy to the people of Abia.

“He said he had been following the achievements of the state government since its inception, and he was impressed by the competence, capacity, and character of our team,” Otti said.

Besides, the governor said that he was humbled and grateful for the Oba’s kind words and endorsement.

“Ooni has shown great interest and support for the development and progress of Abia and the South East,” he said.

Otti also said that the Ooni prayed for his sound health and long life to fulfill his mandate.

The governor thanked the Ooni for his visit, while appreciating the other distinguished guests, who accompanied the Ooni, including the former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Liyel Imoke.

“I look forward to working with them and other well-meaning Nigerians to move our country forward,” the governor said.
