Authorities have arrested an Aurora middle school teacher for allegedly having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a former student.
The DuPage County State’s Attorneys Office said that the 34-year-old Jessica Bergmann had been charged with one count of criminal sexual assault by a person in position of authority, one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse by a person in position of authority, and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
WGN reports that in early October of 2025, the investigators with the Wheaton Police Department were notified of suspicious incidents involving a minor male student and a woman later identified as Bergmann, according to authorities.
Bergmann, a teacher at Washington Middle School in Aurora, is alleged to have met the victim while he was a student at the school.

Authorities added the victim has since graduated from the school.
Authorities said during the victim’s sophomore year of high school, Bergmann and the victim began communicating via phone calls and text messages.
At some point, their relationship is alleged to have turned sexual.
Furthermore, it is alleged the victim frequently went to Bergmann’s home where they had sexual intercourse and where the victim would occasionally stay the night.
Bergmann was arrested without incident on Friday, Nov. 7.
She appeared in court Saturday, Nov. 8 and was granted pre-trial release, but she is prohibited from having any contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 18.
Her next court appearance is set for Monday, Dec. 1.
