Sallah attack: Bandits kill six, abduct many in Sokoto

Police command in Sokoto has confirmed the killing of six people and abduction of many by armed bandits at a village in Gwadabawa Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Sokoto, Ahmed Rufa’i, who confirmed the attack, said that the bandits struck Tudun Doki village at about 1:30am on Sallah day – Sunday June 16, 2024.

He said that six bodies had been retrieved so far, but the police were yet to ascertain the number of abducted persons.

It was gathered that most of the victims were traders travelling along the Kaduna- Birnin Gwari road.
