‘My question is why not spread that sum of money to selected universities and polytechnics across the geographical zones in the country to achieve the same goal’

Huma rights activist and former senator represent Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani, has faulted federal government’s borrowing $80 milllion from the African Development Bank (AfDB) for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone project.
In his X, @ShehuSani, Sani stated on Wednesday that though the idea was good, stressing that it would have been better if the money was spread to sellect universities and polytechnics in the country.
He stated: “I’m not opposed to the FG borrowing $80 milllion from the African Development Bank for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone project.
“The project is a great http://idea. My question is why not spread that sum of money to selected universities and polytechnics across the geographical zones in the country to achieve the same goal.’’
Lara Joseph MD @laraGold143 supported Sani, stressing, “They [Government] cannot think that far ahead.”

In his contribution, Wasiu Optimist @Web3Analyst01, argued that the $80 milllion was not enough to go round all the high institutions in Nigeria.
He said, “The money might not be sufficient to that effect. My personal perspective though.”
But Engr ‘Demola via @ExquisiteDemo has a different view.
He stated that there was nothing wrong in borrowing money; but to utilize it.
His words: “I keep telling people that borrowing is not inherently bad as we perceive it; but the key is responsible and transparent use of borrowed funds. When loans are invested in projects that generate economic growth, create jobs, and improve infrastructure, they can benefit the masses.”
