Napoli and Nigeria striker, Victor James Osimhen, has said that the current Super Eagles players give their best, while playing football for Nigeria.

He also commended the team captain, Ahmed Musa, for his leadership qualities and the maneger, Jose Peseiro, for his technical competence in football.

The lanky striker said, “with the presence of Musa in the team, every player is carried along, while Passaro is a father figure everybody wants to play for.”

Osimhem, who spoke in a Lagos-based radio, Wazobia, at the weekend, also lamented the non-qualification of Super Eagles to future in the last World Cup.

He however promised that the Super Eagles would do well in the forthcoming African Nations Cup (AFCON).

On the level of commitment of the Super Eagles to national assignment, Osimhen said that they always give it 100 per cent, stressing that African football is different from the European football.

He also commended the Super Eagles and Hopel Jerusalem of Israel keeper, Adebayo Adeleye, who made his debute for Nigeria in the last game against Sierra Leane for his sharpness and composure, which made it difficult for S’Leone not score more goals in the game Nigeria won 3-2.

Also, he praised his fans for their support, urging them to be prayerful to achieve their life ambition.

The 24-year-old Osimhem recalled his humble beginning in Oregun Ikeja Lagos, stressing, “I started playing football in Oregun and Olusesin area of Ikeja Lagos before I went to Oregun High School, where Mrs Atanda gave us all the encouragement we needed to excel in football.

“In fact, most of the times she financed and provided buses and other things we needed to play matches. I am grateful to her.”
