A new female Commissioner of Police, CP Justina Nwuka Ogbodo,
has assumed duty in Ebonyi State following the retirement of the immediate past CP Faleye Olaleye, at the weekend.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed at the weekend that the new CP took over the leadership of the command from the outgoing Commissioner of Police, CP Faleye S. OLaleye, who pulled out of the Force on retirement after a meritorious service.
Onome further stated that CP Ogbodo hails from Enugu South LGA of Enugu State.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Nigeria Nsukka and also holds a diploma in Police Science from Police Staff College Jos.
She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and was subsequently trained at the Police Academy annex, Kaduna.

She has served meritoriously in various capacities in different geo-political zones of the country.
She had served as Divisional Traffic Officer, Divisional Crime Officer, Divisional police Officer.
On her promotion to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, she served as Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
On her elevation to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police, she served in Administration, Department of Logistics and Supply, Force Headquarters Abuja, Department of Administration, FCT Command Abuja, and also as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Homicide Section Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department Abuja.
On her promotion to the rank of Commissioner Of Police, she served as Commissioner of Police in charge of Welfare, Force Headquarters Abuja and currently she is the 26th and 3rd woman Commissioner of Police, Ebonyi State Police Command.
She has attended several courses such as Advance Detective Course, Police Staff College Jos (2002), Intermediate Command Course, Police Staff College Jos (2006), Strategic Planning and Intelligence – led policing (2009) and Strategic Leadership and Command Course (2017).
CP Justina Nwuka Ogbodo is a thorough-bred Police Officer, one of the finest of our time, she can be referred to as a police officer extra-ordinaire.
