‘I will not celebrate my birthdays in today’s Nigeria, with the current deplorable state of the nation’

The acclaimed winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election, Mr. Peter Obi, of the Labour Party (LP), has said that he would not celebrate his 62 birthday with the current deplorable state of the nation.
Obi, whose birthday is on Wednesday July 13, 2023, also thanked God for His infinite mercies on him.
The Anambra State former governor tweeted via @PeterObi on Monday that celebrating his new age was not necessary in the midst of the current hardship in Nigeria, stressing that he had maintained the low-key in the past 20 years.

His words: “Wednesday 19th July 2023, marks my 62nd Birthday. While I remain immensely grateful to God for His infinite mercies, I still maintain my decision of over 20 years, that I will not celebrate my birthdays in today’s Nigeria, with the current deplorable state of the nation.”
