‘We have chosen the members of the panel carefully, based on their professional experience and competence in the field of education’

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has tasked the nine-member Visitation Panel of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), to review its records and structures from 2019 to 2023 and make recommendations that would restore the institution to its rightful place as a centre of genuine excellence in education.
Governor Otti gave the order during the inauguration of the nine-member Visitation Panel to Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), recently.
Otti, who disclosed this in his X handle, @alexottiofr, explained that members of the panel were chosen on merit.

“We have chosen the members of the panel carefully, based on their professional experience and competence in the field of education. They are:
– Prof. Steve Okorodudu (Chairman)
– Prof. Rose Nwabueze
– Prof. Mrs. Abiola Awosika-Fapetu
– Dr. Sonny Ajala, SAN
– Prof. Ngozi Osarenren
– Prof. Nnenna Oyidie Okeh
– Mr. Emmanuel Okpechi, FCA
– Dr. Confidence Ogbonna
– Mr. Dodoh Okafor (Secretary)
“I urge all the stakeholders of ABSU, including the management, staff, students, alumni, and the general public, to cooperate with the panel and provide them with the necessary information and support. The panel has 90 days to complete its assignment and submit its report to me.
“As the Governor of Abia State, I am committed to ensuring that ABSU regains its glory as a model for excellence in research and innovation. This is in line with our vision of resetting Abia to become the number one state in the country. For us, what goes on in our university must represent the excellence of our aspiration.
“I thank the Chairman and members of the panel for accepting this important assignment and I wish them success in their work,” the governor said.
