Otti: Together, we will see Aba rise again, stronger and more prosperous than ever

The Abia State governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has assured that Aba would soon regain its glory as the most industrious city in Nigeria, with the official flag-off of the reconstruction of the 3.5km Osisioma -Ekeakpara Road on Thursday May 9, 2024.
Otti, who gave the assurance at the flag-off of the project, did not however disclose the cost of the project being executed by Wilangy Nigeria Limited.
He appealed to Abia State citizens and residents to pay their taxes regularly to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Otti, who disclosed these in his X handle, @alexottiofr, pointed out that
project began from Osisioma junction and terminated just after the popular Ekeakpara market.

He also assured that streetlights would be provided throughout the length of the road.
His words: “I am pleased to announce the official flag-off of the reconstruction of the 3.5km Osisioma – Ekeakpara Road. The road starts from Osisioma junction and terminates just after Ekeakpara market.
“Streetlights will be provided throughout the length of the road. The project will be executed by Wilangy Nigeria Limited.
“For too long, Aba has suffered from neglect, but no more. The road is more than just asphalt and concrete; it is a lifeline for the industrious people of Aba, a city that has nurtured dreams and fostered the spirit of entrepreneurship.”
He also lamented that the deterioration of the road contributed to Aba’s decline, stressing, “Today, we turn a new page. The Osisioma-Ekeakpara road will once again become a bustling hub of activity, supporting the NNPC Depot and numerous industries along the Osisioma industrial stretch.”
The governor further disclosed that he had already mandated strict supervision of the project by the Commissioner for Works.
“We expect to commission this road in 12 months, and it will be designed to withstand and endure the heavy traffic flow of large trucks and logistical vehicles,” he said.
He also appealed to the citizens to support the task force in keeping the environment and drainage systems clear even as the rain approaches.
“Together, we will see Aba rise again, stronger and more prosperous than ever,” Otti assured.
