Governor Kefas: We were always there for each other; but you left this world far too soon. You gave your all to protect our family, and now heaven holds the treasure we have lost

The late Mrs. Asti Kefas, the younger sister to the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has been interred in her home in Wukari, Tuesday December 17, 2024.
Atsi died on Sunday December 9, 2024 from the injury she sustained from multiple gunshots by a police officer, who was escorting her to Abuja with her mother and six others of her siblings. She died at a private hospital in Abuja.
During the funeral service at their family compound, GRA WUkari, Pastor Thomas Fachano, said that the Holy Bible describes death as the desolution of the earthly tarbanancle.
The cleric also said that attitudes when alive matters not after death, while admonishing the people to impact on peoples live just as the legacy left behind by Sister Atsi.
According to him, everyone recognizes Atsi by the unique sacrifice she made, adding, “Live without influence is a wasted life as life is all about influence and impact.”

He urged the people to always be prepared to meet God their creator.
“What ever one did on earth he or she will be judged based on that.”
He maintained that death was no respecter of any body, stressing, “When it’s time for someone to leave this world, a munite will not be added to that person.”
In his tribute, the executive governor of Taraba State, the deceased elder brother, described her as his dearest friend, confidant and his source of Joy.
“We were always there for each other; but you left this world far too soon. You gave your all to protect our family, and now heaven holds the treasure we have lost. I will carry your memory in my heart forever, and I promise to care for all you left behind. May God grant you eternal peace; and may we meet again in His Glory”.
Speaking in an interview with our Correspondent, George Sabo Adi, ande accountant, scrided her as a woman of peace, bridge builder and a philanthropist, who impacted on the lives of the people especially orphans, maitainig that the deceased indeed acomplished and fulfilled her mandate given to her by her God, hence her death should not discourage the people but to put their trust in God.
He further said that Atsi was an embodiment of humility, God-fearing, steadfast and trustworthy fellow who always intervened in matters that will unite their family, adding that she was a team player.
Also, the Member Representing Bali/Gassol Federal Constituency, Hon. Jafaru Yakubu, who was among the sympathizers, commiserated with the Kefas family and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased, describing her death as an act of God and called on the people to stop asking needless questions and take solace in God, the giver and taker of life.
In their condolence messages, the office of the Hon. Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, the People’s Democratic Party Taraba State Chapter, Zenith Bank and Dr. Krystal Chanchagi Foundation both condoled and commiserated with the people of the state and the immediate family of the deceased, praying that they find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with their late sister Atsi.
Our correspondent reports that the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mufwang, was live in Wukari, SGS, Chief Judge, Chief of staff, members of the state Housen of Assembly, all the Commissioners,traditional rulers and dignitaries from all walks of life attended the burial.
According to her biography, the late Atsi Kefas was born on July 10, 1980 in Wukari LGA of Taraba State to the family of Manu Kefas Atewunu and Mrs. Jummai Esther.
A graduate of the Kwararafa University Wukari, she held a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Studies. Until her death, she was a staff of the Federal University Wukari.
She was a widow with two children.
