Governor Nwifuru inspects projects in Ebonyi

Activities marking the one-year anniversary of the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State have commenced with the inspection of completed and ongoing projects across the state.

Those on the inspection team with the governor include members of thestate executive council, lawmakers, elders council, founding fathers and other stakeholders.

Projects inspected are Chuba Okadigbo International Airport Runway;  Ogbaga-Nwofe Road; Housing Estate for Amaeze/ Izzo Communities at Ezillo as well as Ebonyi State Pipe Production Company.

At the Chuba Okadigbo International Airport, the governor disclosed that  the project was awarded at the cost of N17. 5 billion out which over N15 billion had been paid, while the balance would be paid upon completion.

Governor Nwifuru, who expressed  satisfaction with the quality of work on the runway, urged the contractor to keep to his promise of completing the project within the next 10 days.

“Since our manifesto is anchored on continuity and consolidation, it has become obligatory that we complete the runway and put it to the standard that everybody will  be proud of.

“We made a promise to our people that we will punish our enemies with gigantic projects and we believe God will be with us to fulfill that promise,” he said.

While inspecting the Housing Estate at Ishielu, the governor expressed satisfaction with the quality of work but decried the low pace of work on the site.

He directed the Ministry of Housing to initiate the process of terminating some of the jobs where the contractor failed to show reasonable commitment.

Governor Nwifuru who was conducted around the State Pipe Production Company by the Commissioner  for Commerce, Oguzor Offia Nwali, said that the revitalization of the company   aligne with his resolve to industrialize the state with a view to creating employment.
