Niger governor tasks new cabinet, assures on women, youth empowerment

‘Governor Bago said that he was delighted that the new SSG, HoS, Chief of Staff and the deputy Chief of Staff were people chosen on merit’

Niger State Governor, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, has appealed to members of his the new cabinet to justify their appointment by working for the collective good of the government and people of the state.

He also assured of his commitment to women and youth empowerment within the first four years tenure in office, pledging that plans were underway to consider gender balancing by including at least five women in the next set of appointments.

Bago made the commitment during the swearing-in of the Secretary to Niger State Government (SSG), Head of State Civil Service (HoS), Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Government House on Wednesday.

The governor reminded the first set of appointees that their choice was on merit hence he expected them to put in their best to ensure that the dream and aspirations of the administration which is to make Niger state better than they met it is realised within short time.

Congratulatinthe appointees, Governor Bago said that he was delighted that the new SSG, HoS, Chief of Staff and the deputy Chief of Staff were people chosen on merit of proven integrity and who have the capacity to deliver on assignments related to their offices.
