.Wants ex-players to manage Super Eagles
‘West said that Kanu’s appointment was long overdue, stressing that he was not surprised by it’

Super Eagles and Inter Milan of Italy ex-defender, Pastor Taribo West, has commended the Abia State Governor Alex Otti, for appointing Super Eagles and Arsenal ex-forward, Kanu Nwankwo, as the chairman of Enyimba Football Club of Aba, while also congratulating the Super Eagles captain for the new job.
He made the commendation in a Lagos-based sports station – Brila FM – on Tuesday morning.
In the programme, anchored by Ifeanyi Udeze, Super Eagles former defende, West said that Kanu’s appointment was long overdue, stressing that he was not surprised by it.
The Super Eagles ex-defender said that Kanu would utilize his wealth of experience and connection to take Enyimba to a greater height.
West said that in the Netherlands Kanu’s former club mates like Patrick Clivert and Seadof were now big-time football managers, encouraged by their governments, assuring that Kanu would succeed even with the presence of Finidi George, who was his team mate both in Super Eagles and Ajax of Armstadam.
He assured that Kanu’s new appointment would open doors for more Super Eagles former players to help grow football in Nigeria.

On the current Super Eagles, West said that the squad was full of talents, who need to put extrar commitment to achieve glories.
He said that their manager, Jose Peseiro, was the problem, while advocating for ex-Super Eagles to takeover from him.
Reminded that the forign-based players prefer expertriate mangers because of past experience of extortion by indigenous ones, West said that the likes of Emmanuel Amuneke and Finidi George were exceptional.
According to him, they would not belittle themselves begging for arms from the players, adding that would do their job professionaly.
